Overview
At Rejoice Software, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices available to you. It covers this website, our free website checker (on this site, in our embeddable widget and in our Chrome extension), support tickets and customer accounts.
Information we collect
We collect the minimum amount of personal information needed to provide and improve our services:
- Contact requests: name, email address, phone number, company, and project details submitted through our contact and discovery forms.
- Support tickets and quote requests: your name, email address, optional phone number and company, the website concerned, your message, the files you attach and our conversation with you.
- Customer accounts: name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), language and currency preferences, and your plan, subscription and invoice history.
- Newsletter sign-ups: email address and preferred language.
- Usage data: analytics about page views, device type, browser and performance that help us improve the website, collected only after you accept analytics cookies.
- Cookies: session cookies for navigation and sign-in, a cookie that remembers your language and currency, and analytics cookies only when you agree.
Website checker and Chrome extension
When you check a website, we receive the address of the site you ask us to check, the time, and your IP address (used only to prevent abuse through rate limits). Our servers then read the site's public pages and records, like a normal visitor would, and store the resulting report so it can be shown, shared and turned into a PDF.
The Chrome extension only sends the address of the tab you choose to check, and only when you click the button. It does not read your browsing history, the content of other tabs, form fields, passwords or any personal data on the pages you visit. If you use "Send this report to my developer", the email address you enter is used only to send that one report; we keep a one-way hash of it to stop the same report being sent repeatedly.
To apply the free limits of the checker, we record for each check the website, the time, your IP address and a random anonymous ID (the “rj_checker” cookie on our website, or an ID kept by the extension or widget). The ID is not connected to you unless you log in or sign up; then the reports you ran earlier move to your account. Visitor records are used for 30 days; your account’s report history is kept while your account exists, and you can remove reports from it at any time.
Payments
Plans and invoices are handled by Chargebee and the payment provider it connects to. Your card or bank details are entered on their secure pages and are never stored on our servers. We receive only your subscription status, plan, invoice amounts and dates.
How we use your information
- To respond to contact requests, support tickets and quote requests, and to deliver the work you ask for.
- To run your account, plan and billing.
- To send newsletters, website tips and offers only where you have opted in; every such email has an unsubscribe link.
- To improve our website, performance and content through analytics.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect the security of our services.
Data sharing and third parties
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with trusted providers that help us run our services, such as hosting, email delivery, analytics (Google Analytics, where you consent) and billing (Chargebee). Those providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law. Support tickets are kept as a permanent record of the work agreed with you, including the files attached to them.
Your rights
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. You may also object to processing, request portability, and withdraw consent where applicable.

Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections, encrypted storage of sensitive keys and secure hosting. However, no internet transmission is completely secure.
